29. I Remember I Am a Prayer on My Ancestor’s Breath

In this personal solo episode, I share about honoring my ancestry, what it means to me, and why it feels important to reclaim in these times. I talk about wanting to separate from my family when I was younger, and my more recent evolution into matriarch of my lineage, and discovering the strength and peace it has given me to connect to my ancestors and carry on old (and bring in new) traditions. I talk about the recognition of our full spectrum of humanity; how we can see both the gifts and release that which we do not wish to carry on in our family line. I share some personal stories, talk about the importance of introducing altars and sacred spaces into our children’s lives, and how ultimately we carry our ancestors in our bones, even when the stories and rituals are lost.
This title comes from a song that I learned from a friend – you might have heard it in a women’s circle as well.
